Summer Care Guide: How to Keep Your EV Battery Safe in Extreme Heat
EV Maintenance Tips: Summer heat can damage your electric car's battery and range. Keep these 6 important things in mind to keep your EV safe and achieve optimal performance.

It is summertime, and the heat can pose a problem not only for you but also for your electric car. Lithium-ion batteries that are used in EVs are especially susceptible to high temperatures. If you wish to ensure your EV runs smoothly in the heat, you should consider following these guidelines.
Park your car in the shadow or a covered area to prevent overheating of the interior and the battery. When parking is impossible, at least use the sun protection shield for the windshield to keep the car cool.
Do not charge your EV in the heat of the day since the battery will overheat during charging in the summer period. Therefore, the best time to charge your car is at night or early in the morning when temperatures are lower.
