Royal Challengers Bangalore Chase 206 to Beat Gujarat Titans by 5 Wickets; Shubman Gill Laments Missed Chances
RCB vs GT: GT captain Shubman Gill blamed his batsmen for the five-wicket defeat against RCB. He said that if they had hit more boundaries between the 16th and 19th overs, the result could have been different.

On the Friday’s match of the 34th IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore did wonderfully to win against Gujarat Titans by five wickets. GT scored 205 runs for 3 in M Chinnaswamy stadium of Bengaluru. In reply, RCB chased down the run target with 5 wickets in hand and 7 balls remaining. It seems that Shubman was pretty disappointed.
After the match, Shubman Gill said, "I think in the three overs from 16th to 19th, we didn't hit any boundaries and didn't get the runs we wanted. Those three overs were very crucial for us. I mean, we were in a good position at the end of the powerplay. The key was to take wickets in the middle overs, which I think we failed to do immediately after the powerplay."
Regarding Kohli's dropped catch on 0, he said, "It's always difficult when someone drops a catch, but what's more important is how you get back into the game. Bowling-wise, we had some good opportunities, but we consistently hit the length ball, which is sometimes difficult on this wicket. However, some balls went off the mark, and he batted brilliantly in the middle overs."
