Dharna continues demanding postponement of RAS main exam date, candidates warn of hunger strike
Rajasthan: Candidates protesting at Rajasthan University demanding postponement of the RAS main exam 2024 date and release of the RPSC annual exam calendar have warned that if a positive decision is not taken soon, the movement will take a wider form along with the hunger strike.

The protest of the candidates is gaining strength, asking for postponement of the date of the RAS main exam 2024 by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and publication of the calendar of the annual exams. The ongoing indefinite protest on the campus of the Rajasthan University is on its third day today, and now the protest has assumed the form of a hunger strike.
The protest is being led by many women candidates along with ex-servicemen and another category of candidates. The administration and government are being presented with their demands in a peaceful manner in the Gandhian spirit. The protesters, on Thursday, proceeded into the university carrying the national anthem with them, with a strong police force deployed.
The candidates say that they are demanding to conduct the main examination only after the release of the final selection list of RAS 2023, so that transparency and justice can be ensured. They are also demanding that the RPSC release the annual examination calendar, so that the youth preparing for competitive examinations can get a clear direction.
The students claim that so far, 9 ministers, more than 50 MLAs, and many public representatives, including the Deputy CM, have recommended that the government postpone the main examination regarding their legitimate demand. Despite this, no clear response has come from the government or the commission so far, due to which there is confusion and anxiety among the candidates.
The candidates sitting on the dharna have warned that if a positive decision is not taken soon, then, along with the hunger strike, the movement will take a more widespread form. He has appealed to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to intervene and demanded a decision on this issue with sensitivity and seriousness.
