IPL 2026: Half Season Done, Playoff Battle Wide Open for All 10 Teams
IPL 2026 Points Table Update: The race for the IPL 2026 playoffs has become exciting. Punjab, RCB, Hyderabad, and Rajasthan are leading, while Lucknow, Mumbai, and Kolkata appear to be in a weak position.

The race for the IPL 2026 playoffs has become extremely exciting. The halfway mark of the season is here, and there are ten teams that have an equal opportunity to make it to the playoffs. Some teams will find it easier than others; some have had a fantastic start, while others have faltered early. Punjab Kings have not suffered any defeats; however, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, and Kolkata Knight Riders may be finding it difficult to compete.
Punjab, along with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals, seems to be on top. Each team gets 14 league matches, and typically winning eight of them ensures a playoff spot. However, a team with seven wins can also qualify depending on net run rate and the performance of other teams.
Currently, Punjab Kings lead the points table, having won six out of seven matches, with one match abandoned due to rain. The team has 13 points and a strong net run rate. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore have won five out of seven matches and lost two. Sunrisers Hyderabad have won five out of eight matches, also having 10 points, and a better net run rate.
