Back of terrorists was broken due to the swift actions of NIA, the agency attached 400 properties in 5 years
NIA has attached around 400 properties including various accounts and cash worth crores of rupees since 2019 i.e. in the last five years. Officials said on Thursday that most of the seized properties belonged to terrorists, Naxalites, separatists, and their supporters. Officials said that out of 403 properties seized and attached, a maximum of 206 properties were seized by the Ranchi branch of the agency.
Over the last five years, or since 2019, NIA has attached about 400 properties, along with a variety of accounts and cash worth crores of rupees. On Thursday, authorities declared that terrorists, Naxalites, separatists, and those who supported them owned the majority of the properties that had been taken.
Officials said that out of 403 seized and attached properties, a maximum of 206 properties have been attached by the Ranchi branch of the Federal Investigation Agency. He said the assets included several bank accounts registered mainly in Bihar and Jharkhand and huge amounts of cash belonging to Naxalites and their associates.
A total of 100 other properties of terrorists and their supporters have been attached or seized by the Jammu branch of NIA. He said that the Chandigarh branch of the Anti-Terrorism Investigation Agency has attached 33 properties of the separatists and their supporters. These are apart from the two seized properties of banned Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.
Officials said that the NIA has attached or confiscated these properties between 2019 and May 16, 2024, and this has helped in dismantling the network and infrastructure of terrorist and Naxalite organizations.
He said that the properties of the workers and supporters of the banned organization PFI have also been attached or confiscated by the NIA. Officials said that NIA's New Delhi branch has attached 22 properties, Kochi branch 27, Mumbai branch five, Hyderabad branch four, Chennai branch three, and Lucknow branch 1.
