₹9.20 Crore Deal! Mustafizur Rahman Joins KKR After Intense Bidding War
Mustafizur Rahman in IPL Auction 2026: Experienced Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was a target for KKR, CSK, and DC. Ultimately, he was purchased by the Kolkata Knight Riders for four times his base price.
In the IPL Mini Auction 2026 being held in Abu Dhabi, the Kolkata Knight Riders team purchased the Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman for more than four times the base price. Mustafizur attracted bidding from Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings too, but Kolkata Knight Riders won the deal by shelling out ₹9.20 crore.
Delhi Capitals started the bidding process and followed the Chennai Super Kings. When the bidding crossed the price of ₹5 crores, Delhi Capitals pulled out of the bidding. KKR eventually joined bidding for the second time and acquired Mustafizur for their roster in a final bid of ₹9.20 crores. A total of 37 bids were placed for Mustafizur Rahman.
He is a left-arm fast bowler, and his IPL debut was in 2016 with Sunrisers Hyderabad, in which his team won the IPL. In the following season, he played only one match due to injury. He then joined the Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL. In 2021, he moved to the Rajasthan Royals. He then played for the Delhi Capitals for two seasons. In the 2024 IPL, he joined the Chennai Super Kings and took 14 wickets in nine matches. However, the following season, he moved to the Delhi Capitals and played only three matches due to injury.
Mustafizur Rahman, who has represented five IPL teams so far, has taken 65 wickets in 60 IPL matches. During this period, his strike rate has been 20.9, and the average has been 28.44. Mustafizur has also participated in various T20 leagues around the world. He represents Dubai Capitals in ILT20 and also plays in the Lanka Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League, Pakistan Super League, and England's Vitality Blast.

Mustafizur Rahman is one of Bangladesh's most experienced fast bowlers. He has played 15 Tests, 116 ODIs, and 126 T20 Internationals. His performance in Test cricket has been less impressive, taking only 31 wickets in 15 Tests, while he has 177 wickets in ODIs and 158 wickets in T20s. Rahman entered international cricket in 2015 in the T20 format against Pakistan. Before making his Test debut against South Africa, he made his ODI debut against India in Mirpur.
