BCB Director Amjad Hussain Resigns: Amjad Hussain, one of the directors at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), has resigned from his position in protest after he was removed as Chairman of the Media Committee. Amjad Hussain handed in his resignation to the board after the BCB announced that Mohammad Mokhsedul Kamal would be the new Chairman of the Media and Communications Committee. The BCB stated that Kamal, who is the Vice Chairman of the Committee, will be taking over from Amjad Hussain, who has been in the position since October 2025.

Amjad told Cricbuzz, "I don't know why I was removed from my position (as Chairman of the BCB Media Committee) and what my shortcomings were. They decided to replace me with someone else. After that, I decided to resign from the board."

He further said, "You can say my resignation is my protest." While he avoided directly criticizing the controversial BCB elections, he acknowledged concerns about public participation in the elections.

Speaking to the media during an impromptu press conference, Amjad said that in the past, there were representatives from many Premier League clubs. This time, their number is less. Many candidates withdrew from the elections. This has probably never happened before.

He said that participation could have been more transparent. He also said that such questions are not unusual. They can happen in any election. Even in powerful countries, elections are questioned. It is an ongoing process.

Amjad said he had no knowledge of recent developments, including the BCB's warning to the National Sports Council. This warning was issued when the council formed a committee to investigate election irregularities. He had been out of the country for the past 10 days. He said, "I haven't been in contact with anyone. I can't tell you what happened." Amjad is the second director of the current board to resign. Previously, another director, Ishtiaq Sadiq, had resigned from his post citing personal reasons.
