Miscreants attacked police with hand grenades on Wednesday in Quetta, Pakistan. Five people, including two policemen, were injured in the attack. On information, SSP Mohsin reached the spot and inquired about the matter. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Capt (Retd) Zoheb Mohsin said that initially there was a firing between unidentified miscreants and the police.

Later the miscreants hurled a hand grenade and fled from the spot. The SSP said that Independence Day is nearing. In such a situation, the security in the city is on high alert. Police officers in plain clothes have also been deployed to keep vigil in the city.

Quetta Civil Hospital spokesperson Dr. Wasim Baig said that the injured, including two policemen and a woman, were brought to the hospital. The injured were given medical treatment and told that they are out of danger.

Last Monday, seven people, including the newly elected Union Council President, were killed in a blast in Balochistan's Panjgar district. Last week, four people, including a senior officer of the Levies force, were injured in a bomb attack in the Mazai Adha area of Qila Abdullah.
