Heavy rain in Rajasthan, red alert in 29 districts, many areas submerged
Rajasthan Weather Update Today: Monsoon is active in Rajasthan and heavy rain alert was issued in 29 districts on Sunday. Barwada of Chauth of Sawai Madhopur recorded the highest rainfall of 214 mm, which has created flood -like conditions.

The monsoon continues in Rajasthan. On Sunday, a heavy rain alert was issued in 29 districts of the state. In the past 24 hours, many districts, including Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Sikar, Nagaur, Jaipur, and Ajmer, recorded heavy rains, causing waterlogging and flooding in many areas.
The highest rainfall in the state was recorded in Barwara of Chauth of Sawai Madhopur, where 214 mm of rain fell. Additionally, 124 mm was recorded in Sawai Madhopur city, 130 mm in Baunli, 50 mm in Mitrapura, and 44 mm in Khandar and Malarna Dungar areas.
Many areas submerged due to waterlogging in Chauth Ka Barwara, including the Collectorate office, which was flooded. Other districts such as Jaipur, Sikar, Tonk, Bhilwara, Bundi, and Jhunjhunu received between 1 to 2 inches of rainfall. The Bisalpur dam, which supplies water to Jaipur, has seen its water level rise to 313.74 meters, with water continuously flowing from the Triveni River. So far, the state has received 137% more rainfall than normal. From June 1 to July 4, the average rainfall was 70.5 mm, but this year, 167.1 mm has been recorded.
The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning for heavy rains in many districts over the next 24 hours. People are advised to remain vigilant and avoid waterlogged areas.
