Over 4.1 Million Names Deleted from NFSA List in Rajasthan; 6.95 Million New Beneficiaries Added
Under the 'Give-Up Campaign' in Rajasthan, 4.195 million ineligible beneficiaries were removed from the food security list, while 2.7 million were excluded for failing to complete their e-KYC. Following the portal's relaunch on January 26, 2025, 6.95 million new eligible beneficiaries joined the NFSA.
More than 4.1 million names were deleted from NFSA in Rajasthan. The government argues that most of these people have removed their names under the 'Give-Up Campaign'. Many others have failed to complete their KYC within time. There is a cap of about 44.6 million beneficiaries because of which new eligible people could not get the benefit of this scheme. After receiving instructions from Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the department deleted ineligible beneficiaries and included new eligible beneficiaries. About 6.95 million new beneficiaries have been added under NFSA since it was reopened on January 26, 2025, at the food security portal.
Under the "Give Up Campaign," which began on November 1, 2024, more than 4.195 million ineligible beneficiaries voluntarily removed themselves from the food security list. Additionally, 2.7 million people were automatically removed from the list due to non-compliance with e-KYC. The government says this has created space for new eligible beneficiaries. The budget has set a target of adding 1 million new beneficiaries. The state government says it has simplified the process for adding eligible beneficiaries. Now, even district collectors can add new beneficiaries to the NFSA list. Furthermore, eligible beneficiaries can also remove their names from the list through the www.food.rajasthan.gov.in portal, ensuring transparency and justice. Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries are also getting 5 kg wheat under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, 12 cylinders at the rate of Rs 450 per cylinder under Chief Minister's Cooking Gas Subsidy Scheme, free insurance of Rs 5 lakh under Chief Minister's Ayushman Accident Insurance Scheme, and free medical facilities under Chief Minister's Ayushman Arogya Yojana.
