Severe Heatwave Grips Rajasthan: Temperatures Likely to Reach 44°C in Western Districts
Rajasthan Heatwave: The heatwave has intensified in Rajasthan. Temperatures in many cities have crossed 40 degrees Celsius. Jaipur recorded a hot night. The Meteorological Department has warned of temperatures reaching 44 degrees Celsius and an intensifying heatwave in the coming days.
Heatwave alert in Rajasthan. The Met department claims that the weather would remain dry for the next four to five days, and there is a possibility that the maximum temperature can increase by 2 to 3 degree Celsius. For instance, from April 17-18, the temperatures in various parts of western Rajasthan, especially the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, may touch 42-44 degree Celsius, which is around 3-4 degree Celsius higher than the usual level.
The heat wave was recorded both during daytime and nighttime all over Rajasthan. The maximum temperature on Wednesday exceeded 40 degree Celsius in ten cities, among which Sriganganagar and Churu witnessed mild heat waves.
Four districts, including the capital Jaipur, recorded the hottest night of the season. The minimum temperature remained above 28 degrees Celsius, providing no relief from the heat even at night. During the past 24 hours, the weather remained clear throughout the state, and the bright sunshine troubled people. The mercury remained above 40 degrees Celsius in Hanumangarh, Phalodi, Jaisalmer, and other cities.
