Nine Indian Batters Fail to Reach Double Digits as Australia Dominate in Second T20

On Friday, India and Australia faced off for the second match of the 5-match T20 series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav lost the toss and was compelled to bat first. The start of the Indian innings was bad as the team lost Shubman Gill in the third over. Shubman was the first batsman who achieve double figures, and in this match, that number turned to nine. Nine Indian batsmen failed to reach the figure of double-digit scores in Melbourne as India collapsed for just 125 runs. But owing to two Indian bowlers, even the target of 126 runs proved tough for Australia as well.

Australia won the match in the 14th over. But the way Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy bowled, it looked like 30 more runs could have been the result of that game. However, in this match, Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy proved that with support from both ends, even 126 runs would have been impossible for Australia.

Kuldeep Yadav was the most expensive bowler, conceding 45 runs in 20 balls and taking two wickets. Varun Chakravarthy conceded just 23 runs in four overs and took two wickets. Bumrah also conceded 26 runs in four overs and took two wickets. Harshit Rana conceded 27 runs in two overs.

It's worth noting that after losing the toss and opting to bat first, Team India didn't have a good start, losing Shubman Gill in the third over. Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Axar Patel then departed cheaply. Abhishek Sharma (68) was joined by Harshit Rana (35), helping India cross the 100-run mark. After both sides were dismissed, Team India collapsed in 18.4 overs.
