Fans Still Waiting: Remaining IPL 2026 Matches Schedule to Be Announced ‘In Few Days’
IPL 2026 Full Schedule to be Announced Soon: The wait for the full IPL 2026 schedule is finally over. The season is scheduled to begin on March 28th, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has indicated that the remaining matches will be announced soon.
With only two days to go before the IPL 2026 tournament begins, the schedule has still not come out. It was earlier announced that the schedule for the entire IPL tournament would come out after the dates for the state assembly elections in states like West Bengal, Assam, and Tamil Nadu were announced. However, after the state assembly elections were announced, cricket fans are still waiting for the schedule to come out, and the BCCI Secretary, Devjit Saikia, has talked about this and announced when the rest of the schedule will come out.
In the first phase of IPL 2026, only 20 matches were released. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the board will release the schedule for the remaining matches in the coming days. Saikia told TOI, "We will release the schedule for the remaining matches of IPL 2026 in a few days."
The BCCI had released the schedule for the matches to be played between March 28 and April 12. The schedule for the remaining 54 matches is expected to be released later this week. It is believed that the board may announce it on the opening day of the tournament, when Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 28.

The main reason for the delay in the schedule is the upcoming assembly elections in states like West Bengal, Assam, and Tamil Nadu. IPL matches are scheduled to be played in all these states. Now that the Election Commission has announced the election dates, the board has been able to move forward with finalizing the schedule.
It should be noted that IPL 2026 will be played according to the current format, with a total of 74 matches spread over 65 days. The much-discussed plan to expand the tournament to 84 matches has not been implemented this season. It is now expected that this expansion will only happen in the next cycle after 2027.
