Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Mangaluru, Karnataka on Friday. Here he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several industrial projects worth Rs 3700 crore. Modi also addressed the public meeting and said that through the One District One Product program, market opportunities will be opened for artisans in Karnataka. These projects will help in strengthening the business with ease of doing business. New India is a land of new opportunities.
Our government stands with those who were forgotten by thinking them financially small. Be it, small farmers, traders, fishermen or handcarts, crores of such people have started getting the benefits of the country's development for the first time. Kisan Credit Cards have been given to fishermen in Karnataka. We are also working on providing better boats and technology to the fishermen to increase their income. Apart from this, the number of cities with metro facilities has increased four times in the last 8 years.
In Karnataka also, approval has been given for more than 8 lakh pucca houses for the poor. Thousands of middle-class families have also been given the help of crores of rupees to build their houses. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, in just 3 years, more than 6 crore households in the country were provided with a tap connection facility. Water has reached more than 30 lakh rural households in Karnataka through tap connections. In the last 8 years, more than 3 crore houses have been built for the poor in the country.
In the 21st century, India is moving ahead with the vision of 'Green Growth'. The technology used in the refineries of Karnataka is in line with this objective. During Amrit Kaal, the country is moving ahead with the mindset of Green Growth and Green Jobs. With the success of Make in India, increasing exports is important for India's development. In support of this, we are developing our infrastructure for better logistics.
Ayushman Bharat has played an important role. Under the scheme, about 4 crore poor people in the country have gotten free treatment while hospitalized. Due to this, about 50 thousand crore rupees have been saved from the expenditure of the poor. More than 30 lakh poor patients of Karnataka have also gotten the benefit of Ayushman Bharat.
The GDP figures that have come a few days ago. They are showing the policies that India made during the Corona period. How important were the decisions taken? Last year, despite such a blockage, India exported a total of $ 670 billion i.e. 50 lakh crore rupees.
