During this, the two leaders reiterated the special and historical relations between India and Mauritius and reiterated the resolve to further strengthen the 'enhanced strategic partnership'.

India Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke over the phone with Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam. While doing this, both leaders reiterated the special and historical relations between India and Mauritius and re-emphasized the intent to enhance the 'enhanced strategic partnership' further.

According to the official statement, the two leaders discussed ongoing cooperation in many important areas such as development cooperation, capacity building, defense, maritime security, digital infrastructure, and public relations. At the same time, Prime Minister Modi appreciated the active participation of Prime Minister Ramgoolam in the 11th International Yoga Day.

PM Modi reiterated India's commitment to Mauritius' development goals and said that this support is in line with Mauritius' 'Vision Ocean' plan and India's 'Neighbor First' policy. This conversation is considered an important step towards further deepening trust and cooperation between the two countries.

PM Modi had visited Mauritius earlier during the month of March. While doing so, PM Modi had showcased India's great heritage to the world when he gifted the water from the Maha Kumbh to the Ganga pond in Port Louis. While doing so, he had also offered puja and had also unveiled the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Public Service and Innovation during his visit to Mauritius.
