Western Disturbance Brings Rain, Hailstorm, and Severe Cold to Rajasthan
Rajasthan Weather News: The Western Disturbance in Rajasthan brought thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorms to several districts, causing temperatures to drop by nearly 10 degrees. Maximum temperatures in 15 cities, including Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Barmer, remained below 20 degrees. The cold winds following the rain intensified the cold. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will be clear on January 24-25, with further rain expected on January 26-27.
The Western Disturbance in Rajasthan resulted in thunderstorms and rain in various districts of Rajasthan, while hailstorms were also experienced in some parts of Rajasthan. The change in weather resulted in a drop in temperature of almost 10 degrees Celsius, thus causing a severe winter in Rajasthan. According to the Meteorological Center, the weather is expected to remain clear on January 24 and 25. Meanwhile, light fog conditions are likely to persist in northeastern parts and some areas of western Rajasthan during mornings. However, a new WD has been forecast to become active on 26 and 27th of January, and thunderstorms and rains are possible. On Friday, 15 places in the state recorded a high of less than 20 degrees Celsius. They included places like Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Barmer. The impact of the system was felt less in the afternoon, but cold winds added to the chill.
Since early Friday morning, several districts, including Jaipur, Sikar, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Alwar, Dausa, and Nagaur, experienced thunderstorms and strong winds. After the rain, light clouds and haze covered the sky throughout the day, weakening the sunlight and further lowering the temperature.
The coldest daytime temperatures in the state were recorded in Sirohi, where the maximum temperature was 14.8 degrees Celsius. The effects of the cold winds were most pronounced in Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Bikaner divisions, where people shivered even in warm clothing during the day. Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Center, Radheshyam Sharma, stated that the weather will remain dry on January 24th and 25th, but a period of rain may resume again from January 26th.
On January 23rd, temperatures in major cities of Rajasthan were recorded as follows: Ajmer recorded a maximum of 17.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 12.9 degrees Celsius. Bhilwara recorded 24 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 15.8 degrees Celsius, Alwar 19 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 7.5 degrees Celsius, and Jaipur 20.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 15 degrees Celsius. Pilani recorded a maximum of 18 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 12.5 degrees Celsius, Sikar 16.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 12.5 degrees Celsius, and Kota 24.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 19.4 degrees Celsius. Chittorgarh recorded a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 16.4 degrees Celsius, and Udaipur 25.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 14.4 degrees Celsius. Barmer recorded a maximum temperature of 19.8 and minimum 9.4, Jaisalmer 17.8 and 6.2, Jodhpur 19.9 and 9.9, Bikaner 17.4 and 9 degrees. Churu recorded 18.7 and 13.5, Ganganagar 16.7 and 10.6, Baran 24.4 and 15.4 degrees. Jalore recorded a maximum temperature of 20.6 and minimum 10.4, Sirohi 14.8 and 9.2, Fatehpur 18 and 13 degrees. Karauli recorded 23 and 15.2, Dausa 23.6 and 13.9, Pratapgarh 24.3 and 15.6 and Jhunjhunu recorded a maximum temperature of 17.8 and minimum 12.5 degrees Celsius.
