Two men pelted stones at a woman Uber driver's car in Delhi and looted her money. When the woman tried to stop the miscreants, she was attacked with a beer bottle, causing injuries to the woman's neck and chest. According to media reports, the incident took place on Monday night near the Interstate Bus Terminus of Kashmere Gate.
The victim has been identified as Priyanka, a resident of Samaypur Badli. She told the media that on January 9, she was going to ISBT on a booking. She was driving very slowly because of the dense fog. It was only 100 meters to reach the location. Meanwhile, two men came in front of the car and started pelting stones. Due to this, the glass of the car broke and the stone hit his head. Pieces of glass also hit the body.
When the woman got out of the car, both the miscreants stopped her. Snatched their money and also got rid of the mobile. But the woman showed courage and took back her mobile from the miscreants. The woman told that the miscreants had snatched the keys to the car. Told them that the car is not mine. But he did not agree, when the woman started shouting, the miscreants attacked her with a bottle and fled with the car.
After the incident, he tried to contact Uber's emergency number by pressing the panic button B but got no response. He sought help from people but no one helped him by stopping the vehicle. Then he informed the police about the incident. The police arrived after about half an hour, made them sit in the van and took them to the hospital. The police contacted their relatives and took them home.
The woman said that she was not conscious at that time. That's why no complaint was filed. However, the police say that the woman refused to lodge a complaint. But the police took cognizance of the matter and registered an FIR under section 393 of the IPC. At the same time, further investigation is being done into the matter.
