Now all the facilities related to elections will be available in a single app, over 40 existing apps will be discontinued

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is soon going to bring about a major digital transformation for crores of voters, election officials, as well as political parties all over India. The Commission will soon introduce an app named ECINET on a single platform, which will have all election-related facilities in one go. The app will consolidate over 40 of the existing mobile as well as web applications of the Election Commission.

ECINET app is being uniquely designed with an improved user interface (UI) and easy user experience (UX), so voters as well as officials can fetch all the election-related information without trouble. There will be no longer be the need to download different apps repeatedly and keep the password in mind.

This modern platform was conceived by Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar in a meeting of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) held in March 2025, in which Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi were also present.

Through ECINET, users will now be able to access important election information from their mobile or desktop. The special thing is that all the information uploaded on this app will be entered only by the authorized election officer, so that the accuracy of the data is maintained. However, in case of any dispute, the information filled in the statutory forms will be considered final.

Under this new initiative, the Election Commission will also merge popular apps like Voter Helpline App, Voter Turnout App, cVIGIL, Suvidha 2.0, ESMS, Saksham and KYC App into ECINET. It is worth noting that these apps have been downloaded more than 5.5 crore times so far.

ECINET will not only facilitate more than 100 crore voters, but will also connect 10.5 lakh booth level officers, 15 lakh political agents, more than 45 lakh polling officers, 15,597 assistant electoral registration officers, 4,123 electoral registration officers and 767 district election officers (DEOs) across the country.

The development of ECINET has now reached an advanced stage and rigorous trials are being conducted for its functionality, ease of use and cyber security. It is being developed after consultation with CEOs of 36 states/UTs, 767 DEOs and 4,123 EROs. Not only this, the Commission has reviewed more than 76 documents, rules and guidelines of 9,000 pages for this.

All services and data provided through ECINET App will be governed by the Representation of the People Act, 1950 and 1951, the Election Rules, 1960, and the Election Procedure Rules, 1961 as prescribed by the Election Commission.
