Generative AI tools will be integrated into over 10,000 schools through Atal Tinkering Labs under NITI Aayog's Innovation Mission. Google launched the US-India Connect Subsea Cable Initiative and pledged $60 million for the Global AI Challenge.

Google Partners with Anusandhan National Research Foundation to Boost AI in Science

Google has also announced a new round of investments and partnerships to expand its AI presence in the country, following on from the previously announced $15 billion plan to develop an AI hub in Visakhapatnam.

Google has also announced that DeepMind is working with the Indian government and other academic institutions in the country to advance scientific research. This includes working with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), which will ensure that the latest in AI is made available for use in the field of science, as well as community projects, hackathons, and mentorship programs designed to improve the skills of students and young scientists.

Google has also partnered with AtalTinkeringLabs under NITIAayog's AtalInnovationMission to bring generative AI tools into the classroom. This is to support the development of robotics and coding classes in more than 10,000 schools. There are also plans to introduce curriculum-aligned AI assistants for students and convert textbooks into interactive digital formats through publishing partnerships.

On the infrastructure front, Google announced the US-India Connect initiative, which will build new subsea fiber-optic routes connecting India to the United States and the Southern Hemisphere, improving international data connectivity.

Google is also expanding its workforce training. The iGOT Karmayogi platform, developed in collaboration with Karmayogi Bharat, will enhance digital learning in multiple Indian languages ​​for millions of government employees. Additionally, a Google AI Professional Certificate Program, developed in collaboration with Wadhwani AI, will be for students and young professionals.

The company also pledged $60 million to two Global AI Impact Challenges and created a Center for Climate Technology in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to advance AI-driven climate solutions.
