Icy winds continue to blow in Rajasthan. The minimum temperature in Mount Abu was recorded at zero degrees Celsius on Wednesday, wherein the overnight dew froze and got converted into pieces of ice. Although bright sunshine in the morning brought some respite for the people, the hill areas continue to shiver due to the chill. In addition to Mount Abu, Fatehpur, Nagaur, Sikar, and Dausa recorded extreme cold. The Meteorological Department has stated that the state weather will continue to remain dry for the next few days, and there won't be any significant change in the temperature. However, normal life may get some respite with the easing of the cold wave.

Looking at the data from the last 24 hours, Sikar was the coldest city after Mount Abu, with a minimum temperature of 5.5 degrees Celsius. Nagaur recorded 5.9 degrees Celsius, Fatehpur 6.9 degrees Celsius, and Dausa 6.7 degrees Celsius. Jalore recorded 7 degrees Celsius, Sirohi 7.4 degrees Celsius, Baran 7.8 degrees Celsius, and Karauli 8.7 degrees Celsius. Churu and Chittorgarh recorded 8.2 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in Pilani, Vanasthali, Bhilwara, Udaipur, Ajmer, and Kota also saw a slight drop, while Jaipur recorded a minimum temperature of 11.8 degrees Celsius.

The maximum daytime temperature in the state has increased slightly, providing relief from the cold wave. Fatehpur's maximum temperature rose to 31 degrees Celsius, while Sikar recorded 29 degrees Celsius and Pilani 29.5 degrees Celsius. Jodhpur recorded a maximum temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius, Phalodi 30 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 30.6 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer 31.5 degrees Celsius, and Barmer 32.1 degrees Celsius. Radheshyam Sharma, director of the Jaipur Meteorological Center, said that the influence of easterly winds is increasing in the southern regions of the state. Due to these winds, the minimum temperature is expected to increase by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in the next few days. This will have a direct impact on the districts of Udaipur and Kota divisions, where a slight decrease in cold is expected.
