Meta appoints Vikas Purohit, former CEO of Tata Cliq to head Global Business Group in India

Social media platform Meta has appointed Vikas Purohit, former CEO of Tata Cliq, as the Head of Global Business Group in India. Meta issued a statement regarding this information on Monday (January 9).
"Meta has appointed Vikas Purohit as Director, Global Business Group in India to lead the strategy and delivery of Charter focused on the country's leading advertisers and agency partners," the company said in a statement. Purohit will report to Arun Srinivas, director and head of Meta's ads business in India.
Purohit will lead Meta's work with India's largest businesses and agency ecosystem. They will be the key business vertical teams, agency teams and business solutions teams of the company, reporting to him.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Purohit has over 20 years of experience in senior business, sales and marketing roles in companies such as Tata Cliq, Amazon, Reliance Brands, Aditya Birla Group and Tommy Hilfiger.
After joining big companies, Purohit will now create a big ecosystem of business in India for Meta. Vikas has vast experience in Marketing and Advertising. Having worked with big brands, Vikas will work closely with big businesses, advertisers and agencies in India for Meta. He will strengthen Meta's relationship with the big brand here. His focus will be on increasing the company's revenue.
Prior to joining Meta, Purohit was serving as the CEO of Tata Cliq. From 2016 to 2018, he worked as the Chief Operating Officer at Tata Cliq. After this, in the year 2018, he was promoted and made the CEO of Tata Cliq. In December 2022, he resigned from Tata Click.
Purohit began his career with the Aditya Birla Group before joining Tommy Hilfiger and then headed retail at Reliance Brands. At Amazon, she was instrumental in driving Amazon Fashion forward and making the company bigger.
