IPL 2024: Harshal Patel made the Titans sweat, achieved the small target with difficulty

The 37th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 was played on Sunday at Mullanpur Stadium, Chandigarh, where the hosts Punjab Kings were defeated by Gujarat Titans by 3 wickets. After this defeat, the Punjab Kings team slipped to 9th place while the Titans came to sixth place. Batting first, Panja Kings barely scored 142 runs. However, Punjab bowlers bowled brilliantly and took 7 wickets of Gujarat. Titans achieved the target in the last over.

Sam Curran, the captain, and Prabhsimran Singh shared a half-century partnership for the first wicket as the team got off to a strong start. But after that, the team lost seven wickets in a span of 100 runs as the wickets began to fall. Sam Curran scored 20 runs and Prabhasimran scored 35. Riley Rousseau then made his way back to the pavilion with nine runs, Jitesh Sharma with thirteen, Liam Livingston with six, Shashank Singh with six, and Ashutosh Sharma with three.

With some impressive hitting in the final overs, Harpreet Brar and Harpreet Singh Bhatia helped Punjab save face and push their team past 140. In 20 overs, the Punjab Kings team was reduced to 142. Sai Kishore bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs. Noor Ahmed took 2 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs and Mohit Sharma took 2 wickets for 32 runs in 4 overs.
