Monsoon Set to Arrive in Rajasthan Soon: IMD Issues Heavy Rain, Thunderstorm and Strong Wind Warning

Monsoon may be about to come in Rajasthan anytime now. According to the Meteorological Department, the conditions for monsoon seem to be forming in the eastern and south-eastern regions of Rajasthan, and monsoon may hit Rajasthan in a matter of a few hours. Currently, monsoon seems to be very near Banswara, the southern entrance of Rajasthan. Since July 2, thunderstorms along with rains have become increasingly common in many districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, the rains will occur in Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Jaipur regions in the next 24 hours. Some areas in the Kota and Udaipur regions will experience heavy to very heavy rains from July 4 and July 5.

Issuing an immediate warning, the Meteorological Department has predicted isolated moderate to severe thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour, and light to moderate rainfall in Jaipur, Ajmer, Beawar, Tonk, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, and Kotputli-Behror districts. Similar weather is also expected in Bundi district.

In addition, light to moderate rain and strong winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph are expected in Pali, Rajsamand, Kota, Baran, Jhalawar, Sikar, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Dausa, Alwar, Udaipur, Salumber, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, Nagaur, and Didwana-Kuchaman districts.
