Akshay Kumar's action-comedy Welcome To The Jungle collected Rs 8.50 crore net in India on its fourth day, taking its domestic total to Rs 72.25 crore and its worldwide tally to Rs 106.48 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The figures mark a steep single-day decline after the Ahmed Khan-directed film opened to a strong Rs 63.75 crore nett across its first three days in India.
Monday Occupancy Falls Below 21%
Overall Hindi theatre occupancy at 20.90 percent across 10,922 shows on Monday. Morning shows recorded 11.85 percent occupancy, afternoon shows 20.46 percent, evening shows 22.69 percent, and night shows 28.62 percent, the tracker said.
Regionally, the Delhi-NCR circuit logged 24.5 percent occupancy across 985 shows, while the Mumbai circuit registered 21.8 percent occupancy across 775 shows, per the same data.
Welcome To The Jungle is currently competing for screens with Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga. Several other titles are scheduled to release in the coming weeks, including Alpha, Dhamaal 4, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which could further squeeze its show counts.
Director, Cast Speak on Film's Scale
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Kumar described the franchise's third installment as a tonal shift from earlier Welcome films, moving the comedy from an indoor setting to a jungle backdrop with a larger ensemble and bigger action set pieces. He said the chaos on set was such that "we sometimes needed a headcount."
The film features an extensive ensemble cast alongside Kumar, including Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Kiran Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Vindu Dara Singh, and Urvashi Rautela.
