AI Mission: India's AI mission is ready to take a new form. Emphasizing its preparation, today Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the evaluation of AI-Large Language Model (LLM) applications is in the final stage and soon the government will shortlist those institutions.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Monday underscored the assessment of AI-Large Language Model (LLM) applications. He informed that the assessment of AI-Large Language Model (LLM) applications is at the last stage and shortly afterward the government will shortlist institutions that will be provided with funding under the India AI Mission.
IT and Railroad Minister Vaishnav was addressing the launch of the Vinod Dham Center of Excellence for Semiconductors and Microelectronics at Delhi Technological University (DTU). He informed that soon AI LLM teams will be given awards, which will become eligible for funding. Under this project, India will get its own AI platform in 18 months, the minister announced in February.
In addition, Vaishnav informed that 14,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) have been acquired under the AI mission. Also, the panel process is going on for the second phase, which will provide huge computing facilities to startups and AI researchers.
It is worth noting that DTU inaugurated a center of excellence named after Vinod Dham on this occasion, which is an important step in India's mission for semiconductor innovation and manufacturing. Vinod Dham was also present at the inauguration ceremony of this center along with DTU Vice Chancellor Prateek Sharma and other dignitaries.
