Arvind Kejriwal will attend Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann's marriage to Dr. Gurpreet Kaur tomorrow

On Thursday, Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, will wed Dr. Gurpreet Kaur in a small, private ceremony at his Chandigarh home.

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), will be present for Mann's wedding.

Punjab CM Mann is getting married a second time. CM Mann's first marriage ended in divorce about six years ago. The ex-wife of the AAP leader continues to reside in the UK with their two kids.

The Punjab chief minister announced that his Cabinet had approved the decision to give 300 units of free electricity to every household in the state one day before his wedding.

Punjab CM Mann increases his Cabinet

On July 4, Bhagwant Mann increased the size of his cabinet by indicting five AAP MLAs to serve as ministers in the Punjabi administration.

AAP won handily in the 2022 elections for the Punjab Assembly. On July 4, Punjab ministerial oaths were taken by AAP MLAs Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Fauja Singh Sarari, Chetan Singh Jouramajra, and Anmol Gagan Mann.

Adoption of a resolution by the Punjab Assembly to cancel the Agnipath scheme

The Punjab Vidhan Sabha issued a resolution last month urging the Modi administration to revoke the Agnipath programme.

The Punjab Chief Minister moved a resolution against the Aginpath programme, claiming that the country, including Punjab, has seen significant protests as a result of the Centre's decision to implement it.

According to Mann in the Punjab Assembly, "The Punjab Vidhan Sabha strongly feels that the scheme where youth will only be employed in the armed forces for a period of four years and out of which only 25% will be retained is neither in the interest of national security nor of the youth of this country."
