Arctic blast in America, temperature reached -79 degrees

The Arctic blasted across the US on Friday, with the region recording a massive drop in temperatures. The temperature reached -79 degrees Celsius in Mount Washington, New Hampshire.
Warnings have been issued for about 16 million people in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine in New England, including New York, in view of the decreasing temperature. For the first time since 1981, it is getting so cold in Maine. 150 shelters have been opened for people in the state. All the events have been cancelled due to the cold in the entire region.
The area around the North Pole is known as the Arctic. In the Arctic blast, a large ball of cold air from this part reaches America via Canada and a sudden drop in temperature is recorded in most parts of America. In this situation, the temperature can drop more than 11 degree Celsius in a few hours. The temperature in the plains can drop as low as -57°C.
Due to the cold, schools in Boston, Worcester and Massachusetts were declared closed to prevent hypothermia and frostbite for children waiting for the bus or walking. The mayor of Boston has opened warm centers declaring an emergency in the city.
Meteorologists have described this cold as 'once in a generation'. The highest peak in the Northeast, Mount Washington State Park, recorded a low of -46 degrees. At the same time, it was -13 degrees in Boston and -16 degrees in Worcester-Massachusetts. This cold may increase further in the coming time.
Due to the arctic winds flowing from Canada to the US on Friday, there was a huge drop in the temperature. The coldest day of the day was recorded in the US at around 1 p.m. near Cabetogama, Minnesota, Ontario. The temperature here was -39 degrees. Canada's weather station Eureka recorded a temperature of -41 degrees Celsius on Friday morning.
After freezing temperatures in parts of the South and Texas, temperatures are starting to rise in the Northeast, with temperatures dropping in the Northeast. Due to the cold here, the power supply was also damaged along with rain and snowfall in many parts, but now the weather is getting better. It was 11 degrees Celsius in Austin, Texas on Friday. And by Monday, the temperature is expected to reach 22 degrees.
