Both the women's and men's teams of India won the gold medal in the Chess Olympiad. This is the first time that India has won the gold medal in this tournament in both categories. The men's team included Arjun Erigesi, R Praggnanandhaa, and World Championship Challenger D Gukesh. In the women's team, D Harika, Divya Deshmukh, and Vantika Agarwal all contributed significantly to the victory.
Modi is currently on a US tour and praised India's men's and women's chess teams at Nassau Coliseum in New York. He said, "India is full of energy and dreams. Every day we see new achievements. Today, both India's men's and women's teams have won gold in the Chess Olympiad."
