PM Modi Highlights Growing India-Austria Ties, Stresses Collaboration in Tech and Defense

During the talks, both sides also agreed on reform of global institutions. The complete elimination of terrorism is a shared commitment of both countries. Following the talks, six important agreements were signed between the two countries.

These include a fast-track mechanism to facilitate investment by Indian and Austrian companies in each other's countries, military cooperation, and counter-terrorism cooperation. Both countries also agreed to establish a joint working group on terrorism.

Describing Stalker's visit as "extremely important," PM Modi said that Austrian companies are already active in India in the railway, clean energy, and engineering sectors. He said, "With the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, a new golden chapter is now beginning in India-Austria relations."

By combining Austria's expertise and India's speed and scale, the two countries will ensure reliable technology and supply chains for the world. It has been decided to further strengthen cooperation in areas such as defense, semiconductors, quantum, and biotechnology.

Stalker, while referring to the positive growth in India-Austria trade, emphasized on a rules-based world order. Foreign Ministry Secretary (West) Sibi George told a media briefing that both leaders strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms.

They also condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April last year and the terrorist attack near the Red Fort in November. Both sides emphasized the need for concerted and sustained efforts at the international level against terrorism.
