Southwest Monsoon Nears Rajasthan, IMD Predicts More Rain and Thunderstorms
Rajasthan Pre-Monsoon: Pre-monsoon activities have intensified in Rajasthan ahead of the monsoon. The Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm and rain alert until June 7. A woman died in Bharatpur after a wall collapsed due to a thunderstorm amid an orange alert in 14 districts.

Rajasthan is getting its first taste of pre-monsoon action as the southwest monsoon draws closer. According to the Meteorological Department, the region can expect more thunderstorms, rain, and gales through June 7th, specifically in the east and south.
Since Thursday evening, several spots, like Jaipur and Alwar, experienced this wild weather shift. Heavy rain mixed with booming thunder rolled through, offering folks a brief respite from the sweltering heat. In fact, Jaipur received intermittent showers all night long.
As for today, meteorologists aren't easing up on their alerts. They've got an orange warning out for 14 districts and a yellow one for eight. Expect gusts of 60 to 70 km/h, laced with thunderstorms and possibly some hail.
Meanwhile, the weather also took its toll. In Jhorol village of Bharatpur district, a 55-year-old woman, Indra Devi, died and her disabled son was injured when a wall under construction collapsed during a strong storm. The two were sitting against the wall when the accident occurred.
