Railways have taken these steps to ensure that passengers won't experience a water shortage in trains in summer
Railways: Giving details about the measures taken by the Railways, Chief Public Relations Officer of Eastern Railway, Diptimay Dutta, says that, to ensure that passengers get adequate water during the journey, the Railways will take the help of NGOs.
The summer season has begun. Under such circumstances, the Railways have initiated preparations so that the general passengers won't experience water-related issues in the train. Railways has suggested constituting a team to oversee water-related issues in long-distance trains and liaise with state governments and district officials regarding proper water supply.
Providing details of the efforts by the Railways, Chief Public Relations Officer, Eastern Railway, Diptimay Dutta, stated that, in a bid to make sure that the passengers are supplied enough water during the trip, the Railways will utilize the services of NGOs. Also, coordination is in progress with the NGOs to try to ensure proper water supply to all passengers in the railway route's corresponding stations. Meanwhile, South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain instructed all the divisions to supply proper water in the train coaches in a priority mode in the wake of the summer season. He told the officials that no train should be allowed to depart from the train watering stations without water or with insufficient water.
Apart from this, Indian Railways has advised setting up teams of employees to ensure the filling of water in trains and overseeing water-related issues. Officials have been instructed to ensure proper maintenance of water systems like pumps, piping systems, and to check the availability of water sources in advance to deal with any lapse in an emergency. Officials have been asked to coordinate properly between state governments and district officials for water supply (if necessary), so that passengers do not face a shortage of water.
