BCCI has made a major reshuffle in the coaching staff of the Indian team before the three-match ODI series against South Africa starting on December 17. BCCI has suddenly removed Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the Indian team for the ODI series. Now Sitanshu Kotak has been made the new head coach of Team India for this series. Not only this, but now the coaching staff will also be new. This decision of BCCI is quite shocking. Rahul Dravid's contract was till the ODI World Cup 2023, but it was extended. It was under the guidance of Dravid that the Indian team played the T20 series against South Africa. However, now he will not be the head coach in the ODI series.

According to the Cricbuzz website, Rahul Dravid wants to concentrate completely on the Test series. Therefore, he has distanced himself from the ODI series against South Africa. BCCI, agreeing to his point, has appointed Sitanshu Kotak as the new head coach. In such a situation, every time in the absence of Dravid, VVS Laxman will not take the responsibility of head coach in the ODI series. In the new coaching staff, former wicketkeeper Ajay Ratra will play the role of fielding coach and Rajib Dutt will play the role of bowling coach.

The first match of the three-match ODI series to be played between India and South Africa will be played on 17 December at New Wanderers, Johannesburg. KL Rahul will take command of Team India in the ODI series. After the ODI series, a 2-match Test series will be played. In which Rahul Dravid will once again play the role of head coach.
