In the lead-up to the IPL 2026 encounter between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians, there was much discussion on how 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi would face Jasprit Bumrah for the first time. In the past one year, Vaibhav had outscored all the bowlers that he had faced. While some believed Bumrah would pose a stiff challenge, Suryavanshi proved his mettle in the match by showing no fear against any fast bowler, including Bumrah.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi hammered a six off the first delivery from Bumrah. Bumrah bowled an ideal delivery, but the left-handed batsman sent it soaring over the mid-on fence. A few balls later, Bumrah bowled a short delivery, and Suryavanshi stepped back and smashed another six. Although he only lasted 14 balls at the crease, he wreaked havoc on the field, scoring 39 runs.
Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya was impressed by Suryavanshi's performance. After Rajasthan Royals secured an easy 27-run victory, players from both teams exchanged pleasantries, and cameras captured a sweet exchange between Pandya and Suryavanshi.
