After the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, India reacted sternly towards Pakistan. India targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir by conducting an accurate missile attack. Following this, tensions have escalated between India and Pakistan. Pakistan attempted drone and missile strikes in Jammu, Punjab's Pathankot and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan on Thursday evening, which the Indian Army foiled. Now India is gearing up to put economic pressure on Pakistan, the haven of terror. As part of this plan, India requested the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to examine the loans provided to Pakistan.

Responding to a question during a press conference yesterday, Foreign Secretary Misri said that the issue of stopping Pakistan's funding from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be raised in the meeting to be held on Friday. He said, our permanent executive director is appointed in the IMF. He will raise this issue in the board meeting.

India has expressed concern over the loan given to Pakistan before the IMF and has demanded its review. The source said that Pakistan is using the money received from the loan in terrorist attacks and nefarious activities. The IMF Executive Board will meet Pakistani officials on May 9 for the first review of the extended financing facility. The IMF Board will evaluate the new arrangement of $ 1.3 billion for Pakistan under its climate resilience loan program. It will also assess the bailout package of $ 7 billion issued earlier.

Last year, the Asian Development Bank had committed to provide 764 public sector loans, grants and technical assistance to Pakistan. Its total value is $ 43.4 billion. Apart from this, in January this year, the World Bank approved a loan package of $ 20 billion for Pakistan, so that the cash-strapped country can overcome its challenges. India will ask the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank to reconsider the financial aid and loan given to Pakistan. India says that the neighboring country uses the financial aid and loan received from international forums in terrorist activities against India.
