Xiaomi 17 Max Arrives in China With 120Hz AMOLED Screen, 3D Fingerprint Sensor
The Xiaomi 17 Max has been launched in China. The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 series chipset and features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera.



Xiaomi 17 Max was launched in China on Thursday as the fifth smartphone under the Xiaomi 17 range of smartphones. This smartphone was unveiled during the Xiaomi event that took place in May 2026, during which Xiaomi 17 YU7 GT Electric Car, Xiaomi Band 10 Pro, and Xiaomi Ear Clip TWS were unveiled as well. Xiaomi 17 Max has been powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 8 series chipset that powers the entire range of smartphones. There is a Leica-tuned trio of rear cameras with the primary one having a pixel rating of 200 million pixels.
The Xiaomi 17 Max is priced starting at CNY 4,799 (approximately Rs. 68,000) for the base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The higher-end 16GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB RAM and storage configurations are priced at CNY 5,099 (approximately Rs. 72,000) and CNY 5,399 (approximately Rs. 76,000), respectively. The top-of-the-line model, which features 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, is priced at CNY 5,799 (approximately Rs. 82,000).
The Xiaomi 17 Max is currently available for pre-order in China and will go on sale in the country on May 25th via the Xiaomi online store. The Xiaomi 17 Max is available in Pixel Black, Sky Blue, and White color options.
The Xiaomi 17 Max is a dual-SIM handset and runs on Xiaomi's Android 16-based HyperOS 3. The phone sports a 6.9-inch 1.5K (1,200×2,608 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, Dolby Vision and Dragon Crystal 3.0 protection. The company claims the handset comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
