The Powerbeats Pro 2 has three microphones on each earphone, including a dedicated voice microphone. It is equipped with optical sensors that assist in in-ear detection and heart rate monitoring. Also, it has an accelerometer and gyroscope.

The heart rate monitoring feature provided in the Powerbeats Pro 2 is said to be special for athletes, which will help them track real-time performance. The company says that it uses an LED optical sensor, which pulses more than 100 times per second and measures blood flow.

This data can be shared instantly with any compatible fitness app. At launch, it will work with apps like Runna, Nike Run Club, Open, Ladder, Slopes, and YaoYao.

Beats claims that the Powerbeats Pro 2 offers Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity for both Apple and Android users. With Apple devices, it supports one-touch pairing, automatic switching, audio sharing, hands-free Siri and Find My. On the other hand, Android users can access these features through the Beats app. Users can control music with on-ear buttons and a tactile volume rocker. Apart from this, you can also get hands-free Siri access with the command 'Hey Siri' or 'Siri'.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 is offered with Apple's H2 chip and provides up to 10 hours of playback time, while a total of up to 45 hours of battery life is given with the charging case. It is claimed to get up to 90 minutes of playback time with just 5 minutes of quick charging. The charging case supports Qi wireless charging, has a USB Type-C port, and is said to be 33% smaller than its previous model. Each earphone weighs 8.7 grams, while the case weighs 69 grams. These earphones come with an IPX4 rating, which makes them water and sweat-resistant.
