Chalapathi Rao, a popular actor in the Telugu film industry, passed away on Sunday morning (December 25) at the age of 78. Chalapati suffered a heart attack at his home this morning, after which he died on the spot. The entire industry has plunged into grief due to Chalapati's passing. Chalapathi has acted in more than 600 films in his career.
According to media reports, Chalapathi was suffering from health ailments for a long time. Chalapathi Rao is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Chalapati's family members said during the conversation, 'Chalapati Rao's last rites will take place after his daughter returns from America. His body will be kept at Ravi Babu's house in Banjara Hills for fans to visit till Sunday afternoon so that he can pay his last respects. At the same time, his last rites will be performed after 3 pm on Wednesday (December 28).
Chalapathi Rao was born in 1944 in Andhra Pradesh. He started working in the film industry with the encouragement of Sr. NTR. Chalapathi started his career with the film 'Goodachari 116' released in 1966. Chalapathi is known as a comedy and villain.
Chalapathi has acted in more than 600 films like 'Sakshi', 'Driver Ramudu', 'Vajram', etc. Along with this, he was also seen in Bollywood actor Salman Khan's film 'Kick'. Along with acting, he also worked in production. He produced films like 'Kaliyuga Krishnadu', 'Kadapa Reddamma', 'Jagannatakam' 'Pelante Noorela Panta', 'Presidentigari Alludu', 'Ardharatri Hatyalu' and 'Raktam Chindina Raatri'.
