On Thursday, Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn), a major player in Taiwanese technology, presented its chairman and CEO, Young Liu, with the Padma Bhushan. Foxconn is a prominent global provider of science and technology solutions, as well as the largest electronics manufacturer in the world.

According to Foxconn's official website, Liu is a recognized entrepreneur and innovator with more than four decades of industry experience. He has founded three companies. He founded a motherboard company called Young Micro Systems in 1988. In 1995 he formed a Northbridge and Southbridge IC design company that focuses on PC chipsets. He also founded ITE Tech in 1997 and ITX, an ADSL IC design company.

Liu graduated with a Bachelor of Science in electrophysics from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan in 1978, and an MS in computer engineering from the University of Southern California in 1986. As part of the strategy to diversify its supply chain from China to the developed world after the pandemic, Foxconn has made significant investments and quickly increased its footprint in India.
