Gautam Gambhir supported BCCI against the rule against which Virat Kohli is; Know what he said
BCCI New Player Rule: After Virat Kohli's statement on BCCI's family rule, Gautam Gambhir has supported the new rules implemented by the cricket board for the players. BCCI implemented this new rule after the defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The head coach said that the focus of the players should be on the game.
Indian coach Gautam Gambhir has endorsed the BCCI's new family rule. The only target of the players, in his opinion, is to play for the country and make the nation proud. After India's 1-3 loss in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia, new guidelines for the players were issued by the BCCI.
Following this, the BCCI put a new rule in place. Under this, the duration of stay of families with players has been restricted. As per the new rules, families can accompany the players only for 14 days in tournaments that run for 45 days or more. For shorter tours, the maximum family stay is restricted to a maximum of seven days.
Virat Kohli was very vocal against this rule and admitted that he dislikes it. Kohli said that he does not want to go back to his room and sit sadly without family.
