Opposition leaders including Kharge, Farooq Abdullah said - We should be united for the Lok Sabha elections

A function was held in Chennai on Wednesday to mark the 70th birthday of DMK leader Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin. Congress Party National President Mallikarjun Kharge, National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and many leaders of the opposition participated. The message of opposition unity has been given by the leaders through this ceremony.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Congress-DMK alliance in Tamil Nadu had won the Lok Sabha elections in 2004, and 2009 and the assembly elections in 2006 and 2021. We should strengthen the UPA alliance and lead the foundation for the 2024 Loksabha victory. All opposition parties should come together.
Kharge said that I never said who would become the Prime Minister or who would lead. This is not a question, I just want that we should fight together. At the same time, Farooq Abdullah supported Kharge's point and said that we should fight the elections together and then decide who will become the Prime Minister.
Farooq Abdullah told all the opposition leaders including MK Stalin from the stage to wake up, unite and build a nation where we all can live with dignity and peace. It is the people of India who make the country strong. Let us join together and work in harmony. Abdullah told Stalin that India was in a difficult situation. Democracy and the Constitution are being put in danger. I hope you live long enough to serve not only Tamil Nadu but the whole of India.
DMK President MK Stalin said the idea of a third front is meaningless. I humbly request all political parties opposed to BJP to understand the simple electoral maths and unite. This is not just the stage for my birthday celebrations. Today a huge political stage is starting in India. I thank Mallikarjun Kharge for the best birthday gift of creating a common platform. The 2024 election is not about who wins, it is about who should be defeated.
