New-generation BMW X2 unveiled, got a powerful engine with 307 bhp power with iDrive 9

BMW has been continuously teasing its X2 crossover for the last few days. The company has now introduced this car. The new generation BMW X2 comes with new styling, two powertrain options, and a wide range of new technologies. Scheduled for its public debut at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo later this month, the X2 may come to India after its launch in other global markets.

The new BMW X2 has been given a style that makes it quite different from its previous version. The new X2 has a coupe-like roofline. The upright front profile, flared wheel arches and muscular rear profile give the crossover a stronger and bolder look than its predecessor.

This car also comes with updated LED headlamps and taillights. Also included is the optional illuminated kidney grille, another design element that differentiates the X2 from the X1. The new X2 is the automaker's first compact crossover to come with optional 21-inch wheels.

The new BMW X2 offers more seating space inside the cabin. The car is equipped with BMW iDrive 9, with a greater focus on touch and voice control via the BMW Curved Display and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

Additionally, its foldable display combines a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment display into a single glass. It also has a cabin-facing camera, which can take pictures and record videos.

The new-generation BMW X2 gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine powering the X2 xDrive28i. It can produce a maximum power of 237 bhp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. This car can accelerate from 0-96 kmph in 6.2 seconds.

Powering the top variant X2 M35i xDrive is a more powerful 2.0-litre engine, which produces 307 bhp of maximum power and 400 Nm of peak torque. This engine is capable of accelerating the car from 0 to 96 km per hour in 5.2 seconds. Both versions get a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
