LPG tanker overturned on Jaipur-Ajmer highway, Bhankrota gas accident remembered
Rajasthan: A major accident was averted on Monday morning near Sawarda in the Dudu police station area on Jaipur-Ajmer highway. An LPG tanker going from Baddi in Himachal Pradesh to Kandla in Gujarat suddenly went out of control and overturned on the service line.

The tanker that had gone to fetch LPG overturned near Sawarda culvert, Dudu, Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway number 48. As soon as the tanker overturned with a sudden loud noise, people remembered the Bhankrota gas accident and panic broke out amongst the people.
According to tanker driver Mahmood, a trailer pressed it on the left side, due to which the pin of the tanker broke and overturned. After the accident, there was chaos in the area. People started running with their vehicles, as they thought that the tanker was filled with gas.
Vishal Saini, who was present at the spot, said, "As soon as the tanker overturned, a rumor spread among the people that there was gas in the tanker. People started running here and there out of fear. Later the driver said that the tanker was empty, after which the situation calmed down."
The police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The tanker was lifted upwards with the help of a crane and removed from the road. The tanker has suffered heavy damage but a major accident was averted.
The driver of the car Mahmood has blamed the trailer driver for pushing him to the side, while no party has lodged a complaint so far as the police probe into the aspect of the accident, investigating all its aspects.
The police confirmed that there was no gas inside the tanker due to which a huge accident was also averted. Investigation related to the accident is ongoing.
