At least seven people were killed and three seriously injured when a truck and a passenger vehicle collided in Karnataka's Vijayanagara district on Monday.
This information was provided by the police The incident occurred within the limits of Mariammanahalli police station on the outskirts of Hospet town. According to the police, this accident occurred due to the breakage of the axle of the lorry.
The deceased were residents of Hospet and had gone to visit the Goni Basaveshwara temple at Koolahalli near Harapanahalli town. His identity has not been established yet. The injured have been admitted to the government hospital in Hospet. Sources said that the death toll is likely to increase.
