A 23-year-old IT professional has been arrested for entering a women's washroom in a popular mall in Kerala wearing a burqa and filming it with his phone.

Police said the incident took place at Lulu Mall on Wednesday. An FIR was registered against the accused, a B.Tech-graduate, on the same day under sections 354C (eavesdropping), 419 (disguising) of the Indian Penal Code and section 66E of the Information Technology Act.

Following this, he was produced before a local court, which sent the accused to judicial custody for 14 days, said an official from the Kalamassery police station.

The incident took place on Wednesday at Lulu Mall, where the accused, who works in a leading IT firm at Infopark, barged into the women's washroom wearing a 'burqa' and kept his mobile there, police said.
