Income tax raids on hotel group Highway King: Action on Rajasthan-Haryana bases

The Income Tax Department raided the premises of the famous hotel group Highway King on Saturday. Teams of the Investigation Branch of the Income Tax Department conducted a joint raid at the hotel premises. Simultaneous raids were carried out in the morning on the bases located in Rajasthan-Haryana.
Sources in the Income Tax Department said that the Income Tax Department had received complaints that the group Highway King, a well-known hotel group, was doing huge transactions in cash. In particular, the cash is being used for the purchase and lease of land for the hotel. Along with this, the department received complaints about other transactions being done in cash only.
On Saturday morning, the Investigation Branch of the Income Tax Department raided Hotel Group Highway King. Simultaneous raids were conducted at the group's hotels, petrol pumps, residences, and offices. In the raid so far, the department has found a huge amount of cash, documents of transactions worth crores of rupees along with some suspicious electronic evidence. Which is yet to be verified.
