Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has expressed concern over the performance of Asian teams including India and Pakistan in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Latif has also argued that the Indian team is not well prepared for the ODI World Cup and the reason for this is that Virat Kohli is not the captain of the team.

The ODI World Cup will be played in India from 5 October to 19 November. Latif discussed the World Cup on the Cricket Eagle YouTube channel. Latif believes that teams like England, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa are expected to introduce new strategies in the upcoming World Cup tournament. Latif is of the opinion that the Indian team is not ready for the ODI World Cup.

Rashid Latif said, “The Indian team management has experimented with many players and if I talk about their batting, say in the middle and lower order, say 4 to 7, they have tried to play any new player with frequent changes. Haven't let it last." He further added, "If they had allowed Virat Kohli to continue as captain, India would have been 100 percent ready for the World Cup by this time."

Former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Latif also commented on India's recent performance in the T20I series against the West Indies. He believes that the reason for India's defeat can be attributed to the inability of the team to allow new players to fit into their roles properly. Also praised the players of England, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. He believes that players from these countries are now playing better spin.
