Ambedkar Death Anniversary: Today is the death anniversary of BR Ambedkar, Prime Minister Modi paid tribute

Today is the death anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, who wrote the Constitution of India. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to his death anniversary on Wednesday and said that the revered Baba Saheb dedicated his life to the welfare of the exploited and the deprived.

Apart from being the creator of the Constitution, he was an immortal champion of social harmony. Modi further said about Ambedkar, 'who came from a Dalit family and became one of the most important figures in Indian politics with his support for the interests of the underprivileged.'

Let us tell you that Babasaheb died on 6 December 1956. Since his death, leaders, especially those from Dalit backgrounds, have rallied around Ambedkar's efforts for education, constitutional agitation and integration for the Scheduled Castes, an influential voting group, and other weaker sections.

Babasaheb was a great economist, jurist, politician as well as a social reformer. He worked for the welfare and freedom of the Dalit caste throughout his life. He launched a campaign against discrimination in the society. Ambedkar, who came from a Dalit background, rose to a prominent position in Indian politics by advocating the rights of the underprivileged. Since he died in 1956, appreciation of his ideas has expanded.
