Following the deadline set by the Supreme Court, all 11 of the convicts in the Bilkis Bano case turned themselves in late on Sunday night at the Godhra sub-jail in the Panchmahal district of Gujarat. According to NL Desai, inspector of the local criminal branch, all 11 of the prisoners turned themselves into jail officials late on Sunday night.

They arrived at the prison ahead of the deadline for their surrender on January 21, which was midnight. On January 8, the Supreme Court revoked the immunity granted to the eleven convicted individuals in this case by the Gujarati government.

The prisoners' request for an extension to submit their sentences was denied by the Supreme Court on Friday, and they were instructed to do so by Sunday.

The eleven convicted individuals are Govind Nai, Jaswant Nai, Bakabhai Vohaniya, Bipin Chandra Joshi, Kesarbhai Vohaniya, Rajubhai Soni, Mitesh Bhatt, Pradeep Mordhiya, Radheshyam Shah, Ramesh Chandna and Shailesh Bhatt.
