10 industries received technology from DRDO for 9 systems

DRDO: The Defense Research and Development Institute (DRDO) has transferred the technology of nine systems to 10 industries. On this occasion, VRDE also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with COEP Technological University, Pune, for cooperation in cutting-edge technologies and emerging areas.

The Defense Research and Development Institute (DRDO) has already transferred the technology of nine systems to 10 industries. The DRDO-based Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra laboratory transferred the technology. As per the Ministry of Defense, the technology transfer happened on June 7 during the ceremony organised at VRDE in the presence of the Secretary Defense Research and Development and DRDO Chairman Dr. Sameer V. Kamat. 

On the current occasion, VRDE also entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with COEP Technological University, Pune, to collaborate in state-of-the-art technologies as well as emerging fields. Dr Kamat appreciated DRDO and industry for the excellent performance of indigenous systems in Operation Sindoor. He suggested that the industry plan for emergency capacity enhancement and appreciated the efforts of VRDE for providing high-end technological solutions for land systems and weapon platforms.

Prof. (Dr) Pratik Kishore, Scientist and Director General Armament & Warfare Engineering Cluster, DRDO, G. Ramamohan Rao, Director VRDE, and other senior scientists, along with industry representatives, were present at the event. Last month, DRDO inaugurated the Quantum Technology Research Centre (QTRC) at Metcalfe House, Delhi, which was launched by Dr Kamat to strengthen indigenous quantum capabilities for strategic and defence applications. The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art experimental facilities.
