India’s First Flex-Fuel Car Could Arrive Soon With Advanced Ethanol-Compatible Technology
Maruti Suzuki Flex Fuel: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that Maruti Suzuki will launch the country's first E100 flex-fuel car, capable of running entirely on ethanol, on Environment Day.

According to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari, Maruti Suzuki would launch a flex-fuel vehicle in an environment day celebration in Delhi in 2025.
This implies that Maruti Suzuki would introduce its flex-fuel vehicle that uses ethanol blend fuels, particularly E-100 fuel, at an environmental day celebration in Delhi on June 5, 2025.
It is worth noting that currently, there is no production of any flex-fuel four-wheelers in India. The newly launched flex-fuel vehicle by Maruti Suzuki will be the first four-wheel flex-fuel vehicle in India. It will use special storage tanks, delivery systems, and engine components.
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki E100 flex-fuel vehicle features several modifications over the E85 prototype to make it compatible with E100 fuel. Ethanol has a higher moisture absorption capacity. Higher ethanol concentrations require specially designed fuel systems and engine parts, as ethanol absorbs moisture more readily than conventional petrol.
